Lessons learned - Speaking the truth
When we lie, trust is destroyed. When there is no trust, people feel hurt.
No one likes to be doubted and to be asked repeatedly about something. Life is much more easier when there is trust. And trust cannot exist with lies. That's why truth is so important.
I have decided to be truthful whenever I speak. Either I say the truth or I keep quiet. I don't have to express my thoughts when they are not required. Beside, they are just feelings and not necessarily correct or accurate. If I have to, then I can say, "I am not sure.", or " I think .., but I may be wrong,"
And when I speak the truth, it has to be with love and kindness, not rude and inconsiderate of other's feelings.
There is nothing so refreshing than interacting with a baby or a child. They are truthful and trusting. Their smile is genuine and there is no deceit. We love them and do not doubt their responses. It's a beautiful trusting relationship.
I believe we should never lie and we should speak the truth with kindness and love. Otherwise we should not say anything.
